ABSTRACT:
A 5 page contention that a continued U.S. military presence in South Korea is not only desirable but imperative. This paper provides a review of the historical circumstances which have led to the situation we have today. While the tensions between these two countries have subsided to a degree since the dissolution of the U.S.S.R., reunification is still only a hope for the future. The U.S. must remain in South Korea as a stabilizing influence. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
