Playing the stereotype card is the most effective of all possible ways for Valdez to point out misconceptions people have about others; indeed, it is an appropriate tool for other ethnic groups to display their discontent as well. As minorities, Chicanos are not created equal in many numbers of ways based upon a protocol established by another race entirely, a distorted attribute of human existence that otherwise defines and limits their collective ability to seamlessly assimilate into white society.
