They include slavery, Lincoln's elections and his assassination, the careers of the various generals, major battles and minor battles, the dominating forces, and other important catalysts, effects and results. The stage of the times was set with a drama with an intense story line of brother against brother, neighbor against neighbor and state against state in that war of all wars, the Civil War.
